I know that this is were I am needed and I love it

 Hello Everyone: 7-11-11
Everything is absolutely wonderful I am in Africa and I love it here so much. I especially like when there is shade except I am getting used to the heat more. At night I even get cold sometimes when the fan is on which is super weird because at the beginning I would be like hot all night. So I guess I am getting used to a lot more things which is good. I wear sunscreen everyday except last Monday and that was a mistake ha I burned my neck so now I'm making sure to put it on. I haven't been sick not yet at least.

The conference was wonderful no one from Ethiopia came and it was a conference for the missionaries in Uganda. The Mission President spoke and also his wife. We also had workshops done by the Zone leaders which was really good. I also got to see a few more of my mission buddies except the 5 that went to Ethiopia. It was really good to see them. Mission President talked to us about faith which was really good and I enjoyed it very much. He is really an amazing President and knows what our mission needs and we as a mission are working really hard.

My companion Elder Cook his parents were both returned missionaries. He has been out six months tomorrow and he has trained three times he also whitewashed to areas which is crazy. He is a super spiritual guy and likes to work hard and get things done correctly. He is also very strong he had the chance his sophomore year to be on the USA rugby team but he didn't.

He is a good athlete played basketball football and he is good. He is Tongan and I guess part Scottish too. He know how to speak a few languages which is cool and he is pretty good at speaking Lugandan, for me I am not so good at it ha but I am trying and that's what matters right. He really is great and has taught me a ton and I am so blessed to have him as my first companion.

For this week we had a really good fourth of July (which was Preparation Day) by going to the zoo which was cool getting to see the animals but my favorite part was when I got to ride a camel which was really weird and really fun and playing some football with some of the other zones. It was just two hand tag but I also made some really good friends that are really cool. We also went and ate some Pilao I don't know if that's how it is spelled but it is good. Then we went to the other Elders apartment and were about to make cookies until the lights went off so we had cookie dough and some Ice cream Fanta floats. It was a really good Fourth of July and we just talked and had fun.
We stayed the night at their apartment and the next day we went on exchanges and I went with Elder Seabolt and it was really good getting to know him and working with him. He lives in Utah and he is a great guy and fun to be around. I think an amazing experience happened that day too me and Elder Seabolt were looking for one more lesson and it was getting late and no one wanted to listen so what we did was we said a prayer and the next house we went to there was a guy named Emma and he seemed very interested in the gospel which was really cool to see and it was just another testimony that our Heavenly Father really does answer prayers and that he listens to us.
Wednesday we had a District Meeting which was good. Then we went and dropped off Elder Cooks stuff at our apartment and we taught a guy named Alfred and he seems interested in the gospel. Then again when your teaching people here they all seem like they want it but they kinda lie to your face "yeah yeah ill come to church ill be there" then on Sunday they don't show but when there are investigators there you know they are interested in the church which is great!
This Friday we just had a lot of meetings Elder Cook had a meeting with the Zone leaders and the other District Leaders. I was supposed to have someone come and be with me but they didn't come so I just studied and sat at the church. We also that day had a meeting with our district which was good and we are just trying to figure everything out. Saturday we went on splits and I went with Habib and we were able to teach the Motego family and they seem interested and I hope that they will want to come to church also. Sunday we went to church and it was good each missionary went to a different class and at the end of the day reported to Elder Cook how it went. We also had Ward council and we talked about how the missionaries can help the ward and how the ward can help the missionaries so that was really good. Then we went to the Ballyjusa family we go there every Sunday for FHE and they always feed us great and they cook amazing food for us they are so fun and nice.
There is one named Rodger who I told you about I think. well any who he likes country and he wants me to give him names of good country song by Don Williams and other country singers if you have any give some names so i can give it to him thanks :). Every day is good and I am just looking for the good in things I am enjoying the mission so much and I am still learning a lot and I will always learn for the rest of my life how to be better. I am getting to know the gospel better but I feel like I still have a lot to learn. No I haven't had to play the piano and they have an electric piano and its difficult to plug in and keep on I have tried to play just for fun but its hard.
Today is Preparation day and I don't think we are doing too much except maybe some basketball and just hanging out with the other Elders in our district so that will be fun. I hope you have a great week this week and I am so glad you guys had fun last week. Glad everyone is good and enjoying
I know that this is were I am needed and I love it so much here there is nothing more important then what I am doing. I know that this is the true church on the earth today and that our Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he died for us and suffered not only for our sins but for everything sad or painful. I love the song "I stand all amazed" I truly am amazed that he would die for me a sinner but he loved each and every single one of us that he would be willing to put his life on the life for us. I know that if we come to him and repent of our wrongs and truly try to follow him he will bless our lives. I am so grateful to be raised in the church and I know it has blessed my life so much.
I hope you have a great week this week and I am so glad you guys had fun last week. Glad everyone is good and enjoying I love you all and I miss you. If you have any other questions ask and if anyone else does I will try my best to answer.
  Love Elder Hildreth
