Hey Everyone, 2-27-12

I am doing great this week. It was another great week. Those who were baptized all came and were given the gift of the Holy Ghost. We had a baptism of Sister Peace she was one that has been coming to church all the way back since September and everyone thought she was a member, but wasn't so we were asked by the Bishop to get her baptized and into the church so that's what we did. The work has been going amazing the Lord truly does bless his servants if they work hard. We were blessed with some wonderful referrals from brother John Mbira and he showed us a wonderful family.
We weren't able to see the wife and one of the kids. We did see the husband and the other 5 kids they brought so that was great! I was so grateful for his efforts. The ward has been super excited for missionary work and things are going very well. One other great thing that happened this week is through a miracle a recent convert, Eric was finally able to come back to church! I was so excited to see him there it was such a blessing from the Lord I have been seeing him like once every week and so have other missionaries and it just took a little perseverance and love and he came to church it was such a wonderful blessing to see him there. Another guy named Godfry was able to come and participate and it was awhile for him too. Even though it rained and people normally don't show up when it rains we had a lot of people come to church and that was so awesome. I am grateful for Heavenly Fathers tender mercies each day and how much he truly loves each and every single one of us and how he is willing to bless us and strengthen us. I love serving the Lord it brings so much joy into our lives and so much peace. Not only into ours but into others as well and that is something I see everyday is how the gospel truly does bring so much peace, love, and joy into all of our lives. So I got to get the chance to work with Elder Kasue this week in our area and it was so good that guy has so much love for everyone he sees and he has helped me so much and one other thing he helped me with was having lots of fun and just smiling and waving at everyone and that is something I needed cause sometimes I get caught I have to get there. I am smiling, but not saying hi to everyone and see how they are and I noticed how much better it was to smile and on your way just say "Hi how are you?" and everyone here just smiles back usually some don't, but that's OK. It was so cool to see so I learned to just on my way to an appointment to say hi to everyone and make them smile because it truly makes you smile and the next person it was really good experience. I love being in the service of my fellow man and my Heavenly Father and It has been such a blessing to be here and to do the little I can now. it was great to hear from you and how everyone is doing thanks for all you do I love you all.

2-20-12
Hey,
I am doing wonderful it has been another wonderful week.

That picture of the food I sent last week came from an Ethiopian restaurant and it is pretty good. The reactivation project is going great we had it after we had the wedding for Robert and Scovia which went really well. We got them a cake and they had a good humble wedding. The book "Rawanda" that Grandpa and Grandma Nelson gave me before my mission is like a lot of the stories here in Uganda there are a lot of interesting stories from here.

My new companion is awesome and I have learned many great things from him already and yeah I am still the District Leader so that is fun and the District is doing awesome we as a District this Sunday had eight baptisms.
Elder Rennie and Elder Kasue had 4 and we had 4.  There was Fred a guy from Burundi and Oscar who is from Congo, Jude who is Ugandan and really needed this change in his life and you could totally see how different he felt after his baptism, and last Allen who is Daniel's cousin Daniel is a member) Allen was very interested and they are all so great and were so prepared.
Oscar has a wife who now wants to be baptized and Fred has a family of 4 and his wife who now want to be baptized also, so it was a great day yesterday. Plus we had a family John Mark the father Ntasha the mother, Ammy the daughter, and Amet the son and they are such an awesome family They were so excited to be baptized.
I was the one they wanted to baptize them and I have a funny story about John Mark I had to do it three times because he wasnt completely down the first time and the second time he comes up he is like "powerful" and then he found out he had to do it again it made some others laugh. So that was a good experience they all told me they felt so pure and clean after and it was just an awesome experience.
So the reactivation project that's going on is going great we had 119 people at sacrament actually more probably and it was just super awesome we had 12 people come to church and some more after sacrament meeting. So it was a great week and it continues to look up. As our District theme is "A perfect Brightness of Hope" As we continue to seek the Lord and do our part the Lord will do his. So all is going well the only thing that is the problem is that we don't have much space for all those people so we are hoping and praying that they can receive a chapel so they can fit everyone. Well thanks very much for the update it was awesome.
I love you guys very much and I am grateful for all you do and continue to do for me I love you all and miss you.

2-13-12

Hey
I am doing great this week. We had a great week and even Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I told you guys about the Reactivation ward project we are doing and it is going great so far and I we saw many of the fruit of it this Sunday we had a family that hasn't come in a long time come and also some recent convert family that came they were Charles and Madrine and it was super nice to see them at church it was super powerful. Also this week we helped this family build an extension for this bunny thing they are doing we haven't finished yet, but hopefully this coming week we will be able to finish the job. The family we were helping were Less actives and we finally helped them and served them and they came back to church which was a great experience for me. We also had John Mark and his family there which was good as always we have a marriage coming up for Sister Scovia and Brother Robert and Sister Scovia should be able to be baptized soon and also Alex and Lovence will be getting married March 24 so that is really exciting.
So we have many things to look forward to this transfer and I feel like the Lord has truly blessed us so much and I am so grateful for his hand in our lives and the Love he has for each and every single one of us. We had a great turnout for sacrament meeting this Sunday we had 114 people there and that has been the most since I have been here.
It has been a fun experience being here in Nsambya and I will be staying here, but will have a new companion Elder Baloyi from South Africa and I am excited to work with him and I will miss my last companion Elder Dubula. So I am looking forward to the exciting time I have here Ill probably be here until my year mark haha we will see. So I haven't updated you on some of the food I have eaten here. Last night at a members place we had fried banana which was super good and some fish. Also I have eaten some Enjera Ill send a picture it is pretty good actually and it is an Ethiopian dish. Also of my Last District which is going from left to right me, Elder Mabunda, Elder Dabula, and Elder Rennie. So it has been a great transfer and Im looking forward to the next one. Elder Dabula and Elder Mabunda are leaving though.I will also write in my journal something the Lord has done for me and I feel like the Lord truly is always in our days we have many tender mercies around us all the time that help us grow closer to him if we just look to him for help. I love you all so very much talk to you all next week

2/06/12

Hey
I am doing absolutely wonderful! It has been another great week here in Nsambya. This last week went great just yesterday we were able to get the news that one of the part member couples are going to be married on the 18th of this month which is great. Also we were in a couples council because they have been struggling I guess and after the lesson he came to me and said thank you and the wife was smiling which was really good. Also another part member family the husband finally agreed to meet with the bishop with his wife so that they can be married so yesterday was a day of getting people to commit themselves in their marriages and that was pretty interesting for me. Luckily in the counseling one we had a member of our Bishopric with us who was married and totally helped us because there are things he know that I really have no idea about ha. So that was interesting. Another great thing is John Mark and his family came once again and they absolutely loved church I think every time they have gone that they have loved it so that is a blessing from God. Even the Bishop is super excited about him getting baptized. Bishop also wants this girl named Peace to be baptized so we will have to get on that. We once again had a lot of investigators that came to sacrament and even more came after. We need to tell these guys to come to church at nine ha that's when they will be on time. This guy Martin from Kenya we are teaching and he said that whenever we walk in he feels super good and one day he said he waited all that day for us to come. He knew we were messengers from God. He has been really awesome to teach. David and Cathy didn't show which was sad and those guys have been impossible to get a hold of. So it was another great Sunday. This Saturday the Ward did something awesome which we will be planning on doing every Saturday from now on out. So it is called the Ward reactivation program and we all go out and we focus on two people who are less active per companionship and we go to their house and yesterday someone that has been a less active for a long time came back to church. So even though it was only one of the many families we visited I know that it will bring much more back to the fold. So that has been a blessing for us. So everything is going great and we are doing well spreading the message and finding those who have been less active. Thanks for the email im glad everyone is doing well. I love you guys and thank you for everything!
